Northvale, NJ- Azzurro Systems Integration is pleased to announce they have been chosen as the Systems Integrator to relocate the New York PBS Station WCNY to its new home at the Joint Master Control Operations (JMCO) facility in Syracuse. Scheduled for fall 2012 opening, the JMCO Broadcast and Education Center, a $20 million renovation of a former building supply warehouse on Syracuse’s west side will be the new home toWCNY’s television and radio production and will also include a learning center, concert auditorium, café and other amenities.
Located on the corner of Marcellus and South West streets on the edge of Armory Square and the Near West Side, the new Joint Master Control Operations Center will broadcast 34 digital channels that originate from nine New York State PBS stations, a first of the kind for a public broadcasting company which will save the stations a combined estimate of $25 million dollars over a 10 year span.
